Job description – Senior Shopify Developer

As a Senior Shopify Developer at Your Tech Club, you will take ownership of end-to-end development for complex Shopify projects. You’ll work with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI designers, backend developers, and project managers, to build custom features, ensure smooth integrations, and optimize stores for speed, scalability, and reliability. This role requires a deep understanding of Shopify’s ecosystem, from Liquid templates and theme development to the Shopify API and third-party integrations.

Key responsibilities

1. Develop custom Shopify themes and features

1. • Build and maintain custom themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to meet specific client requirements.

2. Create bespoke integrationsc

   • Design and implement custom integrations with third-party platforms (e.g., ERP systems, payment gateways, and inventory management).

3. Optimize store performance for high traffic

   • Optimize Shopify stores to handle large amounts of traffic and ensure fast page load times and responsive performance.

4. Implement complex functionalities

   • Develop custom functionalities like dynamic filtering, advanced search, and personalized user experiences.

5. Lead technical strategy

   • Take charge of technical strategy, ensuring projects are scalable and aligned with best practices for high-revenue stores.

6. Maintain code quality and standards

   • Implement clean code principles, automated testing, and continuous integration to ensure code quality and system stability.

Required skills and experience

• 5+ years of experience as a Shopify developer, working on large-scale projects.

• Proven experience in building custom Shopify themes and Liquid programming.

• Strong understanding of Shopify’s API and experience with REST and GraphQL.

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; familiarity with Vue.js or React is a plus.

• Experience integrating Shopify with third-party systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, payment gateways).

• Proficiency in backend development using Node.js or Ruby on Rails is highly desirable.

• Strong understanding of e-commerce best practices, conversion rate optimization, and performance tuning.

• Experience working with high-revenue stores and handling large amounts of traffic.

• Fluency in English; Dutch is a plus.
