A contract from a customer or supplier looks like your own standard until you reach clause eleven.

Reading it takes time, and it often happens under pressure because something needs signing.

The Contract Reader sets it against your standard and marks where it differs, with the reason. It does not give legal advice.

What it does, step by step

  1. Receive the contractFrom the mailbox or the folder where contracts arrive.
  2. Recognise the structureWhich topics it covers, and which are missing compared with your standard.
  3. CompareLiability, term, termination, payment terms, penalties and governing law.
  4. Mark the differencesWith the text from both documents side by side.
  5. Put it forwardTo the contract owner or the lawyer, with the most serious points at the top.

What runs automatically and what does not

You stay in control.

Not every decision should be made automatically. For each workflow, we set out:

  • What can happen automatically.
  • What is put forward for approval first.
  • When a person is brought in.
  • What information is stored.
  • How actions are logged.

Is this a fit for your organisation?

A good fit if

  • Organisations that regularly receive contracts from other parties.
  • Companies with their own template or purchasing terms.
  • Situations where contracts are currently signed under time pressure.

Less of a fit if

  • Legal advice or assessing risk.
  • Negotiating terms.

What it can deliver

  • Knowing sooner where a contract differs.
  • Fewer differences that only come to light in a dispute.
  • More targeted use of expensive legal time.

Directions, not promises. As soon as there is evidence from a client project, it will appear here as a substantiated result.

Frequently asked questions

Does an AI employee give legal advice?

No, and that is not hedging but a hard line. It compares text with text and marks the differences. Whether a difference is acceptable is a legal judgement, and that belongs with a lawyer.

What does it compare?

The topics you define yourself. In practice those are liability, term and termination, payment terms, penalty clauses, intellectual property, confidentiality and governing law.

Does it also flag what is missing?

Yes, and that is often more important than what is worded differently. A missing limitation of liability does not stand out when you read quickly, because there is nothing there to read past.

Do our contracts stay within our own environment?

Yes. Contracts are confidential, so we set up processing within the EU and within your environment, and we record what is and is not stored.
