What is AI consultancy?

AI consultancy is advice on where artificial intelligence and automation add value in an organisation, in what order, and what that takes in systems, data and people. Some AI consultants only deliver advice or a strategy. Your Tech Club is an AI implementation partner: the advice starts with the AI Opportunity Audit, which establishes in five working days what the current work costs and which three opportunities have the highest value, and whatever comes out of it, we also build and run. The audit may also conclude that AI isn't the answer somewhere.

Sound familiar?

Three situations we come across at organisations that have had advice on AI before.

The AI strategy is sitting in a drawer

There's a polished document with opportunities and a roadmap. But nobody knows who will carry it out, and six months later nothing about the work itself has changed.

Every process turned out to suit AI

The advice said yes to everything. So you can't see which opportunity really delivers, or where an ordinary integration or doing nothing would have been better.

Nobody can say what it will deliver

There are ideas on the table, but no figure for what the current work costs. Then every investment is a gamble, and the loudest voice wins.

Recognise any of these?

Our view

AI consultancy that ends in production, not in a report

Advice is only worth something if the work changes because of it. That's why we aren't a consultancy that leaves after the report. The audit delivers the plan, and if you want to carry it out, you do so with the same team that did the interviews.

For us, delivery starts with the foundation: access to the systems, data in order, integrations, logging and an owner for each step. Then the first process goes live, and AI employees, agents or workflows are added on the same foundation. What we build remains yours.

AI strategy

An AI strategy that starts with what the work costs now

Many AI strategies start with the technology: which tools exist, what a language model can do. We start with your processes. Where is time lost, what often goes wrong, what gets left undone? From the interviews and the review of systems and data, we calculate what that costs per year.

That figure makes the strategy concrete. The three opportunities with the highest value come first, with what implementation requires and what the first 90 days cost. That way AI becomes a decision with a business case rather than an intention.

  • One figure for what the current work costs
  • The three opportunities with the highest value
  • The first 90 days as a plan with a price

An honest no

An AI consultant who also tells you where AI doesn't pay off

An adviser who recommends AI everywhere is mostly recommending what they can sell. That's why the audit report has a fixed section on what we wouldn't do. Sometimes an integration between two systems you already have is quicker and cheaper; sometimes a setting in software you already use is enough.

So the outcome of the advice can also be that you pick it up yourself, or that you do nothing for now. That answer keeps the rest of the advice credible. If you'd first like to see what to look for when choosing an AI consultant, read our comparison guide.

  • A fixed section: what we wouldn't do
  • An integration or a setting if that's enough
  • Doing it yourself or doing nothing for now is an option too

What you get from us

Advice with a figure, an order of priority and a team that also carries it out.

The opportunity first, then the technology

We start with your processes and what they cost. Only then the question of which technology fits, and whether it needs to be AI at all.

A figure you can defend

What the current work costs, built up traceably from hours, rework and what gets left undone.

A fixed first step

Five working days, an intake plus three to five interviews, and a report with five fixed sections. You know the price in advance.

Advice and delivery in one team

Strategy, design, software and AI with the same people. The plan doesn't get thrown over the fence to another party.

In control from the start

For each application, what may happen automatically and where a person decides is set out. ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certified.

What we build remains yours

Integrations, instructions and software are in your name. You aren't tied to us or to a single AI vendor.

How it works

The advice takes five working days. What comes next depends on what the audit shows.

    Intake and process inventory

Which processes, which systems, who does the work. Together we choose who we interview.

  2. 02

Interviews and review of systems and data

Three to five conversations with the people who do the work, and a look at the systems and the data behind it.

  3. 03

    Quantify and prioritise

What the current work costs, and which opportunities deliver the most, weighed against what they require.

  4. 04

    Closing session and report

Five fixed sections: what it costs now, the three opportunities, what we wouldn't do, what implementation looks like and the first 90 days.

    Delivery, if you want it

Case | De Duurzame Jongens

€500,000 a year in growth opportunities found in the AI Opportunity Audit.

Adviser and builder

We had already built the quoting tool and the CRM integration for De Duurzame Jongens. Later they did the AI Opportunity Audit, in which we found €500,000 a year in growth opportunities.

In the words of managing director Mylene Weijgertse

“Thanks to Your Tech Club’s sharp insights and strong analysis, we now have a clear picture of where we stand, where the opportunities are and how we want to grow over the coming years.”

Frequently asked questions

What does an AI consultant do?

An AI consultant works out with you where AI or automation adds value in your organisation, which opportunity comes first and what it takes in systems, data and people. At Your Tech Club it doesn't stop there: whatever comes out of the advice, we also build and run until it works in production.

What does AI consultancy cost?

You start with the AI Opportunity Audit. It has a fixed price that you know before you start, with no extra hours billed afterwards. If you then go ahead with delivery, you pay a monthly fee for AI implementation that depends on scope and pace. What it includes comes from the audit, not from a fixed package.

How long does an AI consultancy engagement take?

The advice itself takes five working days: an intake, three to five interviews, a review of systems and data, and a closing session with the report. How long delivery takes after that depends on the process and the systems around it. The first 90 days are in the report as a plan with a price.

What is the difference between AI consultancy and AI implementation?

Consultancy decides what needs to happen; implementation makes it work. With us they are two steps of the same engagement: the audit delivers the opportunities and the plan, and implementation first lays the foundation and then puts the first process into production. So you don't have to hand the advice over to another party.

Do we need an AI strategy before we start?

No. For small and mid-sized businesses it usually works the other way round: first find out where manual work is holding back your growth and what that costs, then the AI strategy follows from the opportunities that deliver the most. A strategy without that figure often stays a set of good intentions.

Can the advice be that we don't need AI?

Yes. The report has a fixed section on what we wouldn't do. Sometimes an integration between two systems you already have is quicker and cheaper, sometimes your own team can pick it up, and sometimes doing nothing for now is the best advice. If so, the report says that.

Do you also help with the GDPR and the EU AI Act?

Yes, as part of the advice and the build. For each application we decide which data goes into it and which risk category of the EU AI Act it falls under, before anything goes live. Your Tech Club is ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certified. That covers how we work and does not replace legal advice or an assessment of each application.

How do you choose a good AI consultant?

Look at who carries out the advice, whether the consultant is willing to say where AI doesn't pay off, and whether the first step has a fixed price and a deliverable you know in advance. Our guide to choosing an AI consultant sets out the criteria and the warning signs.
