What is an AI audit?

An AI audit is a short investigation into where AI, automation or new software genuinely adds value in an organisation, before anything is built. The AI Opportunity Audit from Your Tech Club costs €2,500 excluding VAT, delivers results within five working days with one day on site with a team, and asks the client for an intake plus three to five interviews. The result is a report with five fixed sections: what it costs now, the three opportunities with the highest value, what we wouldn't do, what implementation looks like and the first 90 days. The audit can lead to an implementation, a software project, both or neither.

Sound familiar?

Three situations we often see at organisations that want to do something with AI but don't yet know where it would make a difference.

Colleagues each working separately at their desks in a sunny office

Lots of AI ideas, no order

Every team has an idea or is testing its own tool. Nobody knows which idea delivers the most, so everyone starts at once or nobody starts at all.

Two colleagues looking doubtfully at a whiteboard full of figures and question marks

Nobody can say what the manual work costs

Everyone feels time leaking away, but there's no figure next to it. No figure, no business case, and without a business case, no decision.

A man staring at a warning on his laptop, between piles of paper

Risks only surface after the pilot

Only once something is running does the question come up of which data may go in and who checks the outcome. By then, rolling back costs more than looking ahead would have.

Where we start

Where does AI really add value in your organisation?

We don't start with a tool, but with the work. On day 1 we map the processes in the intake: what comes in, who picks it up, where something is retyped and where someone is waiting for someone else. On days 2 and 3 we talk to three to five people who do the work themselves, and look at the systems and data involved.

The opportunity isn't always where management expects it. The big AI idea sometimes delivers less than the work that sits idle every day: retyping between two systems, the mailbox one person keeps on top of, the check that happens three times. That's why we listen to the people doing the work first.

  • Intake and process inventory on day 1
  • Three to five interviews with the team
  • Review of systems and data on days 2 and 3

The figure

How do you calculate what manual work costs you?

On day 4 we do the maths. We make waste concrete in three ways: the hours spent on the work multiplied by what those hours cost, the cost of errors that need fixing, and the revenue left on the table because follow-up comes too late. Every figure can be traced back to an interview or a source, so you can defend it in your own management team.

Then we prioritise. Not on what would be fun to build, but on value and feasibility. The three opportunities with the highest value go to the top of the report, with what it takes to seize them.

  • Hours multiplied by what those hours cost
  • The cost of fixing errors
  • Revenue left on the table

The report

Why a good AI audit can also say no

On day 5 we go through the outcome together in a closing session and you receive the report. It always has the same five sections: what it costs now, the three opportunities with the highest value, what we wouldn't do, what implementation looks like and the first 90 days.

The third section is the most important. An audit that always concludes you should build something is a sales pitch. The outcome can be an implementation, a software project, both, or neither. ‘Not here’ is a valid answer, and it's the reason you can trust the other recommendations.

  • Five fixed sections, in every audit
  • What we wouldn't do is stated explicitly
  • Implementation, software, both or neither

What you get from us

A fixed product with a fixed structure and fixed promises. You know in advance what you'll get, what it asks of your team and what it costs. What comes after the audit is in the step-by-step plan for implementing AI.

€2,500, known up front

A fixed price, excluding VAT. You know what the audit costs before you start, and no extra hours are added afterwards.

Results within five working days

With one day on site with a team. From you we need an intake and three to five interviews. We do the calculations and the report.

Our guarantee

If we don't find at least €50,000 a year in time and money you can win back, you pay nothing. The conditions are in the FAQs below.

Opportunity first, technology second

We look at the work and what it costs before we talk about tools. The opportunity determines the technology, not the other way round.

A figure you can defend

Hours times hourly cost, rework costs and missed revenue. Built up traceably, so your management team can check every step.

An honest no, too

The report always states what we wouldn't do, and the audit may conclude ‘build nothing’. That's why you can trust the other recommendations.

The report is yours

Even if you don't continue with us afterwards. You're free to have any party carry it out.

What we build stays yours

If we build together after the audit, the code, the data and the accounts stay yours.

What needs to change, agreed up front

Before we build, we put in writing what needs to change. That's what we measure against after go-live.

  1. 01

Day 1: intake and process inventory

Together we map the processes: what comes in, who picks it up, which systems the work happens in and where it gets stuck.

  2. 02

Days 2 and 3: interviews and a review of systems and data

Three to five conversations with the people who do the work. Meanwhile we look at the systems and the data: what's there, what's usable and what's allowed.

  3. 03

    Day 4: quantification and prioritisation

We calculate what the current work costs and rank the opportunities by value and feasibility.

  4. 04

Day 5: closing session and report

We go through the outcome together and you receive the report with its five fixed sections, including what we wouldn't do.

After the audit: four possible outcomes

  • ImplementationThe foundation first, then the first process, then build on from there. The details come from the report.
  • Software projectSomething needs to be built that doesn't exist yet, such as an integration, a portal or a platform.
  • BothBuilding and guiding at the same time, when the report calls for both.
  • NeitherYou handle it yourselves, or you do nothing for now. That's advice too, and then the report says so.

The outcome

“Thanks to Your Tech Club’s sharp insights and strong analysis, we now have a clear picture of where we stand, where the opportunities are and how we want to grow over the coming years.”

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI audit?

An AI audit is a short investigation into where AI, automation or new software genuinely adds value in your organisation, before anything is built. The AI Opportunity Audit from Your Tech Club takes five working days and ends with a report that shows what the current work costs, which three opportunities have the most value and what we wouldn't do.

How long does the AI Opportunity Audit take?

Five working days. On day 1 we do the intake and the process inventory, on days 2 and 3 the interviews and a review of systems and data, on day 4 the quantification and prioritisation, and on day 5 the closing session and the report. From you we need an intake and three to five interviews. We do the rest.

What does an AI audit cost?

The AI Opportunity Audit costs €2,500 excluding VAT. That's a fixed price: no extra hours are added afterwards. You get the results within five working days, with one day on site with a team. And our guarantee applies: if we don't find at least €50,000 a year in time and money you can win back, you pay nothing.

How does the guarantee work?

If we don't find at least €50,000 a year in time and money you can win back, you pay nothing. Two conditions apply. We quantify the costs using a method agreed in advance: hours multiplied by hourly cost, the cost of fixing errors and missed revenue. We set the figure together in the closing session. And you provide the agreed interviews and data. Without those two, we can't back up a figure, so we can't guarantee anything either.

Do we need an AI strategy or clean data first?

No. The audit starts with the work as it runs today, not with a strategy. Whether the data is usable is one of the things we look at on days 2 and 3, together with the systems where the work happens.

What is in the audit report?

Every report has the same five sections: what it costs now, the three opportunities with the highest value, what we wouldn't do, what implementation looks like and the first 90 days. That fixed structure makes the report comparable and verifiable, including for people who weren't in the interviews.

How do you calculate what manual work costs?

In three ways: the hours spent on the work multiplied by what those hours cost, the cost of errors that need fixing, and the revenue left on the table because work isn't picked up, or is picked up too late. Every figure can be traced back to an interview or a source, so you can defend it in your own management team.

What if the audit shows that AI isn't the answer?

Then the report says so. The section ‘What we wouldn't do’ is a fixed part of it, and the audit may conclude ‘build nothing’: you handle it yourselves or do nothing for now. That advice is just as useful as a recommendation to build: it prevents an investment that delivers nothing.

Who owns the report?

You do. Even if you don't continue with us afterwards, you're free to have any party carry it out. And if we do build together, what we build stays yours as well: the code, the data and the accounts.

What happens after the audit?

There are four possible outcomes: an implementation, a software project, both, or neither. With an implementation we lay the foundation first, automate the first process and build on from there. The plan for the first 90 days is already in the report, so you decide on the basis of something concrete. Before we build, we put in writing what needs to change, and that's what we measure against after go-live.
