Your Tech Club builds custom websites for companies in and around Amsterdam, including international firms with a Dutch office. On this page I explain what we build, how it works, what happens after launch and why an agency nearby is more than a postcode.
Website development Amsterdam: what exactly does Your Tech Club build?
We build custom websites in Next.js with a headless CMS. That means the front end is fast and built exactly to your design, while your team edits text, pages and images in a separate content management system. No theme that works against you after a year, but a site that fits the way your business runs.
According to its makers, Next.js is "a React framework for building full-stack web applications" (Next.js documentation, updated May 2026, accessed October 2026). In plain terms: it is the foundation under many fast, modern websites. You can read more about why we chose it under Next.js development.
A headless CMS is a content system that stands apart from the website itself. As a result, the same content can also feed an app, a second language or another brand. That second language often matters for companies here, because many sites in Amsterdam need both Dutch and English. Looking mainly for a brand website with lots of your own content? Then see custom website development. If you want to sell online, ecommerce development is the better place to start.
We do the design ourselves. We turn wireframes into clickable prototypes and a design system that fits your brand, so you can test the layout of pages and flows before the build starts. For example, we designed and built the club website and booking app of a golf club in Amstelveen.
Do you also build WordPress websites?
No, we do not build new WordPress sites; we build custom sites or on Shopify. If you already have a WordPress site, we are happy to take over the maintenance. How that works is described under WordPress maintenance.
My view: WordPress is fine for a simple site with a blog. Still, I see it get messy fast once there are ten plugins on it, each asking for its own updates. That is why people who search for a "WordPress website in Amsterdam" are often looking for the cheapest start. That is not always the cheapest five years. We work it out with you before you choose.
How does it work when we build your website?
In five steps: getting to know each other, getting clear on what the site has to do, design, build and launch. After that, maintenance begins. You speak to the same people at every step. In the first call you speak to Joey van Vliet or me, the founders. We hold that call at our office, at yours or online.
- Getting to know each other. On the Duivendrechtsekade, at your office or online. We talk about your goal, not about colours.
- Getting clear. What does the site have to deliver: enquiries, job applications, trust in a tender? The structure depends on that.
- Design. You see the key pages as a clickable prototype before a single line of code exists.
- Build. We show working versions along the way, so you do not get a fright at the end.
- Launch and after. We put the site live and agree on maintenance.
What often happens at the table: you come in with a list of pages, and halfway through the conversation it turns out the site mainly has to do one thing, such as bring in enquiries or attract applicants. Then the list gets shorter and the plan sharper.
What I would not do: choose an agency on a nice portfolio alone. Ask instead who picks up the phone after launch. On our cases you can see what we built before, such as a headless platform in Next.js and Strapi where the team creates its own pages.
What happens to your website after launch?
After launch we look after your site under an SLA: fixed agreements on updates, monitoring, backups kept separate from the server, security and how fast we close a critical vulnerability. A website agent checks versions, alerts and news about vulnerabilities, but changes nothing on the live site. A developer decides what happens next. That way your site stays secure without you having to watch it.
A website is never finished, after all. Software ages, vulnerabilities are found and search engines change their rules. When a PHP vulnerability hit websites across the Netherlands on 21 October 2026, the first question at many companies was: who actually keeps an eye on our site? What happened that day is in the PHP vulnerability on your website.
An SLA (service level agreement) is an agreement that sets out what your supplier does, within what time and how you hear about it. We offer one with every site we build; deadlines and frequencies are set per client in the SLA. Read exactly what it covers under website maintenance with an SLA.
Website development Amsterdam: what does it cost?
That depends mainly on the number of page types, the integrations with other systems and how much your team wants to manage itself. A site with five fixed pages is a different project from a bilingual site with a vacancy feed. So we do not quote a figure here, but work it out per project.
How the costs are built up and which choices make the biggest difference, you can read under website development costs. Comparing quotes from several agencies? Then use the quote comparison worksheet. That way you see whether everyone is offering the same thing.
Looking for an affordable website in Amsterdam? Then start small. A first version with the pages that really bring in enquiries, and expand after that. That is usually cheaper than building everything you might ever want in one go.
Why choose a web design agency in Amsterdam rather than one at a distance?
Because you switch faster. Fifteen minutes at the table often solves more than three rounds of email. We come to you for a session with your team, or you walk in when something is urgent.
That does not mean everything has to happen on site. We do a lot of our meetings online, and that works fine. The difference is in the moments that matter: the kick-off, the first design and the week before launch. Then you want to look at the same screen together.
Our area is Amsterdam and the surrounding region. We also work further afield, we just drop by less often.
We work to ISO 27001 and ISO 9001, certified by Kiwa. That sounds dry. Yet you notice it in practice: fixed agreements on who can access your data, and a fixed way of delivering. How to compare agencies in the city is also covered in choosing the best web developer in Amsterdam.
