What is a system integration?
An integration lets two systems exchange data on their own, so nobody has to retype it. For example: an order from your online store automatically becomes a sales entry in your accounting software, or a deal won in your CRM automatically becomes a project or an invoice.
What is an API integration?
An API is the door a system opens to other software: a fixed way to request or change data. An API integration uses that door. Most modern systems have one, often with their own documentation, a sandbox and limits on the number of requests.
Can you integrate any system?
Yes. If a system has an API, we integrate through that API. If it doesn't, we look at what it does have: an export, a shared folder, a database or an email the system sends. In the first conversation we tell you which route it will be and what that means for speed and reliability.
Standard integration or custom: which do I need?
A standard integration from a marketplace is fine if it does what you need: the same fields, the same direction, the same exceptions. You need custom work if you have your own rules, if you want more than two systems to work together, or if the standard integration leaves out the one piece of data you need. If a standard integration fits, we'll say so.
What happens when a vendor changes its API?
Vendors change their APIs, and an integration has to keep up. That's why we log every sync, someone gets an alert when something fails, and we agree who maintains the integration. That way you don't discover a change only when a week of orders is missing.
Can AI sit between two systems?
Yes, and that is often where most of the time goes. An integration moves data; in between, AI can read a document, sort an email or prepare a suggested entry. For anything that touches money or customers, a person approves it before it goes through.
How secure is an integration?
An integration only gets the permissions it needs, keys are not stored in the code and every action is logged. Where personal data is involved, a data processing agreement is part of it. We work to ISO 27001 and ISO 9001, certified by Kiwa.
