Connect Claude to HubSpot
An overview of your pipeline, the full conversation history with a customer before a call, or a blog post that goes straight into HubSpot. With the connector HubSpot built for Claude, you do it all from one conversation. Here's what it can do, how it differs from the ChatGPT version and what to set up first.
- Pipeline overview goes to Claude
- A contact's conversation history goes to Claude
- Tickets and inbox conversations goes to Claude
- Follow-up and deal update comes from Claude
- Marketing content comes from Claude
Built for clients including Tata Steel, M&G Investments, Digistore24, Toppers in Concert, Bar-le-Duc and Loogman
For many teams, HubSpot is the shared view of the customer: sales, marketing and service work in the same records. Claude can read those records and act on them. A salesperson asks for every conversation with a customer over the past month, a support agent for a colleague's open tickets, a marketer for the subject lines with the most clicks.
The connector for Claude goes beyond reading. Alongside deals, contacts, tasks and notes, it can also create and update blog posts, website pages, landing pages and marketing emails. That's useful, and it makes clear agreements on approval all the more important.
For each item: which direction it goes, when, and why. This is the starting point; in the first conversation we fit it to your situation.
- 01Pipeline overviewHubSpot → ClaudeAt the start of the week
Active deals with name, amount and stage, sorted by close date. Claude can also show the result as a chart.
- 02A contact's conversation historyHubSpot → ClaudeBefore a call
The history across connected channels such as chat, email and SMS, so you know what's going on before you call. Claude can also point out what might slow the deal down.
- 03Tickets and inbox conversationsHubSpot → ClaudeAt support's start of day
Open tickets per agent by priority, and the questions that came in most often this month through the inbox or help desk.
- 04Follow-up and deal updateClaude → HubSpotAfter a call, once approved
A follow-up task for next week, a note on a ticket or a deal moved to won. HubSpot applies your conditional property rules and pipeline stage validations.
- 05Marketing contentClaude → HubSpotFor a new campaign
Create or update a blog post or marketing email. A blog post needs an author, image, meta description, slug and title, and Claude can publish it too. So agree who's allowed to do that.
Not always. If an existing integration for HubSpot and Claude does exactly what you need, we'll tell you.
The HubSpot connector is listed in Claude's connector directory and was made by HubSpot. You need a paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise), and it works on web, desktop and mobile. It reads contacts, companies, deals, tickets, custom objects, quotes, payments and inbox conversations, among other things, and creates or updates deals, tasks, notes, pages, blogs and marketing emails. It can't delete.
Unlike the ChatGPT app, HubSpot does apply your conditional property rules and pipeline stage validations to changes made through Claude; association labels aren't checked. Bulk changes are limited to ten records per request, and you connect one HubSpot account at a time per Claude account.
- You want to combine HubSpot with your accounting or scheduling, for example to see outstanding invoices on a deal.
- Changes in large numbers or at a fixed time, without anyone opening a chat.
- You're building Claude into your own software; then you use the Claude API with HubSpot's MCP server or your own tools.
- Rules for associations or approval that HubSpot doesn't enforce through the connector.
AI reads, sorts and prepares a suggestion. Where it matters, a person decides.
One question across three teams
Because sales, marketing and service work in the same records, Claude can make connections that are hard to see in separate reports. Which customers with an open deal also have an open ticket?
Publishing stays a human job
Claude can create and publish a blog post or page. Set the write tools to 'Needs Approval', as HubSpot recommends, and agree that publishing remains a decision for a person.
Approval per tool
In Claude you set, per tool, whether it's always allowed, asks for approval first or is blocked. On Team and Enterprise, an owner sets this for everyone. If the connector is on 'always allow', changes go through without asking.
Connecting outside the organisation
Anyone with Super Admin or App Marketplace permissions can connect the connector, including an external agency. On Claude Enterprise, you can stop staff from connecting HubSpot to a Claude account outside your organisation.
Sensitive data
If Sensitive Data is switched on in HubSpot, Claude can't see emails, calls and notes. Sensitive properties, such as health data, are never reachable through the connector.
A chart isn't a report
A chart from Claude is a rendering of the records it fetched. For forecasts and bonuses, the HubSpot report remains the reference. If in doubt, ask for the underlying records.
What goes where
Which data moves, in which direction, and which system wins when two values differ. That is written down before anything gets built. For this integration, that means: Pipeline overview, A contact's conversation history, Tickets and inbox conversations, Follow-up and deal update, Marketing content.
Fields and rules
For every field, how it translates between the systems: statuses, VAT codes, general ledger accounts, item numbers. And what happens with a duplicate or a missing value. For this integration, that means: Approval per tool, Connecting outside the organisation, Sensitive data, A chart isn't a report.
Testing with real cases
In a sandbox or test administration, with the exceptions you actually run into: credit notes, partial deliveries, changed customer details.
Live, with logging and monitoring
Every sync is logged, and when something fails, someone gets an alert. If a vendor changes its API, we update the integration.

No account manager. You talk to someone who builds integrations themselves, and who will tell you when a standard integration is enough.

How is this different from the HubSpot app for ChatGPT?
Both are built by HubSpot and follow your HubSpot permissions. The connector for Claude can also create and update marketing emails, blog posts and website pages, and read inbox conversations. HubSpot also applies your conditional property rules and pipeline stage validations with Claude, but not with ChatGPT.
Which Claude plan do I need?
A paid plan: Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise. For a team, Team and Enterprise are the obvious choice, because an owner then decides which connectors are available and what they can do. On those plans, Anthropic doesn't train on your data by default.
Can Claude delete records in HubSpot?
No. The connector can read, create and update, but not delete. So removing a phone number from a contact isn't something Claude can do; you do that in HubSpot itself.
Does our HubSpot data stay in the EU?
On the HubSpot side, yes: requests for an account in the EU data centre go through that data centre. Whatever Claude fetches then falls under Anthropic's terms, and Anthropic stores data in the US. Weigh that up before you connect customer data.
Why can't Claude see write actions or emails from HubSpot?
HubSpot advises disconnecting and reconnecting, so the new permissions are requested. If a Super Admin has restricted the connector's data access, they need to widen those permissions first. If Sensitive Data is switched on, emails and notes stay hidden regardless.
