Profile
Before you take on a new customer, you want to know who you are dealing with: what the business is, who is behind it and whether anything raises a red flag.
For organisations covered by the Dutch anti-money laundering act (Wwft), that customer due diligence is an obligation. For others it is sensible policy. Either way, gathering and recording it takes a lot of time.
The KYC Assistant retrieves the details from the Dutch Business Register, checks them against the sources you use for UBOs and sanctions lists and completes the file. Whether the customer is accepted is decided by a person.
What it does, step by step
- Receive the requestA new customer from your CRM, a form or a request from a colleague.
- Retrieve the KVK detailsName, KVK number, legal form, address and activities from the Business Register.
- Run the checksUBO details and sanctions or PEP lists, through the sources and services you use for them.
- Complete the fileRequest missing documents and details from the customer, with a reminder if they do not arrive.
- Submit for a decisionThe complete file, with every hit and every uncertainty at the top.
Onboarded into your business
Anne does not start from a generic script. Like any new colleague, Anne is onboarded into the way your team works first.
- Your knowledgeWe onboard Anne with your own documents, examples and agreements, so the work is done the way your team does it.
- Your systemsWe set up the integrations for the software you already use. Different fields or different steps? We adapt to them.
- Your rulesYou decide what Anne handles on its own and what always goes to a person first.
- Grows with youWhen your way of working, a system or a rule changes, we adjust Anne to match.

What runs automatically and what does not
You stay in control.
Not every decision should be made automatically. For each workflow, we set out:
- What can happen automatically.
- What is put forward for approval first.
- When a person is brought in.
- What information is stored.
- How actions are logged.
Is this a fit for your organisation?
A good fit if
- Organisations with a fixed customer onboarding procedure, such as accountancy and bookkeeping firms.
- Businesses that take on many new business customers every month.
- Situations where files stay incomplete because gathering takes time.
Less of a fit if
- The risk assessment and the decision to accept a customer: those stay with a person.
- Legal advice on what the law requires in your situation.
What it can deliver
- Files that are complete before a decision is made.
- Less time spent looking things up and retyping.
- Every hit on a list reaching a person visibly.
Directions, not promises. As soon as there is evidence from a client project, it will appear here as a substantiated result.
Frequently asked questions
Can you automate KYC with AI?
The gathering and recording, yes: retrieving details from the Business Register, running checks through your own sources, requesting missing documents and completing the file. The risk assessment and the decision to accept a customer stay with a person.
Does it retrieve data from the Dutch Business Register (KVK)?
Yes, through the KVK APIs: name, KVK number, legal form, address and activities with their SBI code. With the KVK change service you can also be notified when something changes for a customer later on.
How does it check UBOs and sanctions lists?
Through the sources and screening services you use, or want to use, for that. Which ones, and what you are allowed to see in them, depends on your organisation, and we set that out during setup. It fills nothing in based on a guess.
What happens when there is a hit on a sanctions list?
The file goes straight to a person, with the hit and the data it is based on. A matching name is not yet a match: that takes context a colleague has to weigh. It accepts and refuses no one itself.
Does this make you compliant with the Wwft?
Not on its own. It helps record the due diligence completely and traceably, but responsibility for the checks and the decision stays with your organisation. What the law requires in your situation is something to discuss with your compliance officer or lawyer.
Where does customer data stay?
In your own customer file, for example in SharePoint or your CRM. What is stored, who has access and how long it is kept is agreed for each implementation.
