Shopify online store for RUMAG

RUMAG has a large social media following. During campaigns such as Black Friday, that means a spike in traffic the old WooCommerce setup could not handle. Your Tech Club migrated the online store to Shopify.

What needed to improve?

Handling traffic that arrives in short bursts. A community that size does not buy evenly across the week: when a campaign runs, everyone arrives at once. On top of that, RUMAG's own team needed simpler day-to-day management.

Why Shopify and not WooCommerce?

Because the bottleneck was infrastructure. Shopify scales hosting with the peaks, whereas a self-hosted WooCommerce setup has to be configured, and paid for, in advance for the busiest day of the year. Products, customer data and URL structure were all kept during the migration.

What does the design look like?

The design was made to fit RUMAG's direct style. The interface is deliberately simple: a recognisable brand and a short path to the product.

What can RUMAG do now?

The team runs the store without a developer, and a campaign day no longer needs extra server setup in advance. Your Tech Club was one of RUMAG's first technical partners when it moved into online sales, and also built the blog environment.
